Spot 1.9.12 enters beta test

Spot version 1.9.12 is available for beta testing. This version fixes the incorrect headings and some small bugs. The main bug remaining is with alarm notifications.

Neal Campbell, K3NC, Receives Software Excellence Award.

On May 17, 2008 at the FlexRadio Banquet and Forum held at the Dayton Hamvention, a Flexi Award was presented to Neal Campbell, K3NC, in honor of providing services and solutions to all Flex Radio operators. Flex-Radio stated that Flexi award were given to people who recognized an opportunity to unselfishly give of themselves a knowledge or skill that advanced the cause of software defined radio and benefited the FlexRadio community as a whole. DXBase 2007 CW Interface

DXbase includes three different CW interfaces.  One is entirely built into DXbase and requires no additional hardware except for a simple diode/transistor similar to those used with CT.  The second is an interface to the W5XD Multi+ CW keyer board that was developed and sold by the makers of the contest program WriteLog.  Third is the Winkey external CW board by K1EL.  DXbase supports the CW functionality of these external board.  You can easily select the one you want to use from user options.  Some serial/parallel port cards and newer motherboards will not work with the internal DXbase CW module due to conflicts between the hardware and our legacy driver.  In this situation, it may be necessary to obtain a legacy serial port card or to use one of the external CW boards.  External boards are recommended to insure outstanding CW with no jerkiness from the CPU sharing in Windows operating systems. 

Some of the Features

  • Store up to nine preprogrammed messages.
  • Send stored messages by simply clicking an ICON on the CW toolbar.
  • Change CW speed by clicking an ICON on the CW toolbar while sending.
  • Type an entire line of text and send it at one time with the enter key.
  • Type a character and have it sent automatically as you type.
  • Cancel outgoing CW message by clicking the stop ICON on the CW toolbar.
