Spot 1.9.6 Released on 15 November.
This release fixes two bugs: the first bug involved the formatting of frequencies of spots causing some programs using Spot's server function to not recognize the spot. The frequency sent to programs using Spot as a server no longer have formatted frequencies. Second bug was the inappropriate warning that an update was in progress via Spot's update mechanism. This initial check has been disabled and a newer version of the update mechanism will be implemented in the next release.

Spot window with assistant drawer

Screen Details
We are continuing to explore the spot information panel.
In this snapshot, you can see I have clicked on the spot button under the spot display to show the spot assistant window.
In the spot assistant window, you can clear the screen (depending on which spot band radio button you have selected, the button will reflect that selection. Since I am showing only spots for 160m, the buttons reflect "Clear 160" to clear the display and "Get 160" which will query the cluster for 100 or so of the last spots for that band).
At the bottom of the assistant is a helper to make spot announcements, just enter the frequency, callsign, any comment you have and click send. Spot takes the worry out of remembering the exact syntax for this common task.
To retract the assistant drawer window, either reclick the Spot button under the spot display or click on the X at the bottom right of the assistant drawer window.
