Spot 1.9.6 Released on 15 November.

This release fixes two bugs: the first bug involved the formatting of frequencies of spots causing some programs using Spot's server function to not recognize the spot. The frequency sent to programs using Spot as a server no longer have formatted frequencies. Second bug was the inappropriate warning that an update was in progress via Spot's update mechanism. This initial check has been disabled and a newer version of the update mechanism will be implemented in the next release.

Preference window - station information

Opening screen of Spot

Screen Details

This is the opening display when you select the preference window. It is where you enter your station information. None of this information is sent to Abroham Neal Software, it is merely used either for licensing when you purchase or for informing the DXCluster of your name, etc.

Most of the fields are self-explanatory so I will not re-hash the obvious, but the one item that needs some explanation is having both a call sign field and a login callsign field. This is needed for some cluster systems that will not allow you to be logged into the system with the same callsign more than once. It is also handy for cluster sysops who use their regular callsign as the callsign of the cluster (i.e., my node is K3NC) and some cluster software programs will not let you log in as the cluster callsign (it used to cause CLX to terminate in fact). So when I connect to my DXCluster, I use k3nc-4 as my login callsign.

If you do not fill in a callsign, Spot uses the regular callsign.

Whenever you make changes to this information, be sure to click save before you go to another preference pane or close it.

By the way, your name must be entered exactly the same as the name you used when you purchased Spot or the license validation test will fail (and it will mistakenly think you are not licensed).
