Spot 1.9.6 Released on 15 November.

This release fixes two bugs: the first bug involved the formatting of frequencies of spots causing some programs using Spot's server function to not recognize the spot. The frequency sent to programs using Spot as a server no longer have formatted frequencies. Second bug was the inappropriate warning that an update was in progress via Spot's update mechanism. This initial check has been disabled and a newer version of the update mechanism will be implemented in the next release.

DXCluster mail management window

Opening screen of Spot

Screen Details

Years ago, the mail feature of DXClusters was very actively used for personal notes, want ads as well as bulletins. Modern hams use the internet for the first two items, so DXCluster mail has evolved to primarily bulletin distribution (even though most DXClusters have a bulletin feature).

Regardless, Spot automates viewing, writing and deleting mails for you! When you click on the Dir button, Spot requests the last 100 mail entries and populates this display with the various header information from them.

You can view a mail item in one of two ways: either click on the item and then click the Read button; or, double-click on the item.
